About this opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, confident, results-driven Operations Officer - Shipping line, to join our team in North Sydney on a Permanent, Full-Time on-site basis.
Your duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
Maintain accurate and timely updates of vessel schedules, cargo cut-offs, and container availability in the system to ensure operational visibility
Reconcile OOCL import volumes against terminal import reports prior to vessel arrival, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
Manage Inbound and outbound vessel balancing
Prepare vessel manifest, customs report and other relevant reports and document within required regulatory and operational timelines.
Coordinate with external authorities and service providers, such as; Partner lines, AMSA, DAWR, Port Authorities, Terminals & Depots etc.
Arrange and monitor transhipment movements within or between terminals, ensuring seamless handling and prevention of avoidable delays.
Arrange quotations, verify handling requirements at local terminals, and coordinate delivery for Out-of-Gauge and Breakbulk cargo to ensure safe and compliant handling.
Manage and resolve APC team enquiries relating to laden container invoices, including providing recovery evidence to support direct settlement.
About you
Our ideal candidate will embody our shared values of innovation and creating value, have exposure to the shipping industry as well as a passion and willingness to further develop their skill set under the guidance of the OOCL team.
A minimum of 3 years' Shipping and Container control experience and a comprehensive knowledge of the shipping industry is a must.
An organized and disciplined approach to prioritizing workload and schedules.
Sound understanding of Microsoft suite, including Excel
Confident in learning new computer systems and internal procedures.
Be an excellent team player and be able to work effectively under pressure.
The successful candidate will also display excellent communication skills, the ability to converse with people of all levels and be well organized, efficient and effective.
Must have permanent full working rights in Australia.
