Onpoint Resources is seeking an experiencedRiggerto join our team on afull-time basisin Sydney, NSW.
This is a critical position within our building trades operations, where you will be responsible for the safe and productive installation, maintenance, and removal of rigging equipment and systems on construction sites.
As a Rigger, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all lifting operations comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements, protecting both personnel and assets on site.
Your expertise will be essential to the success of our projects and the safety culture we maintain across all operations.
Key responsibilities
Inspect, assemble, maintain and disassemble rigging equipment, including slings, shackles, hooks and other lifting apparatus
Perform load calculations and determine the appropriate rigging equipment for various lifting operations
Communicate with crane operators and other site personnel to ensure safe and efficient execution of lifting tasks
Set up and secure rigging equipment and materials in accordance with safety standards and project specifications
Monitor rigging equipment during use and identify any defects or maintenance requirements
Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections,
maintenance and load testing
Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations and company safety protocols
Train and mentor junior riggers on proper rigging techniques and safety procedures
Participate in regular toolbox meetings and safety briefings on site
What we're looking for
Current rigging qualifications and certifications relevant to the building and construction industry
Proven experience working as a Rigger on commercial construction sites, ideally 3+ years
Strong knowledge of rigging equipment, load calculations and lifting best practices
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various project sites across Sydney
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with crane operators and site supervisors
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety, with a genuine safety-first mindset
Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
Current First Aid certification is highly desirable
Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and Construction Infobase requirements is advantageous
