Job Description
Commencing in January **** we have exciting opportunities for first timers, experienced winery operators, people from other industries and returnees.
On a day-to-day basis Cellar Hand perform duties for which they have received appropriate and adequate training and instruction.
Duties may be performed in all areas of the winery including;
Crusher operation
Press operation
General cellar including additions, tuffing, transfers
Receive and make handover instructions from/with other shift supervisors
Clarification including Centrifuge/RDV and Cross flow filtration operations
Jetting and working in wet areas
Maintain Good housekeeping practices, cleaning and other duties as required
Entering and Working in Confined Spaces
Working at heights which includes regular access to and climbing of stairs and catwalks
Handling dangerous and hazardous substances (caustics, acids, sulphur dioxide)
Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful in for these roles you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:
Familiarity working with delivery schedules will be desirable.
Experience working in a customer service or similar background and dealing with a diverse range of people.
Familiarity with accurate data entry and attention to detail and sound computer skills.
You like working in a social team environment, you have sound communication, literacy and numeracy skills
You like to be organised and are great at having multiple things on the go at once
You have the ability to follow instructions, procedures and safe work practices and you want to get the job done
Previous experience working as a Weighbridge operator and conducting grape testing is desirable
You are able to work on a rotating roster of Day and Night Shifts
