About the role
The currently has an exciting opportunity for aClinical Midwifeto work within ourPublic Postnatal unit.
We currently havepermanent and maximum-termopportunities available in apart-time or full-timecapacity.
The successful applicant will provide clinical midwifery leadership and management on a day-to-day basis and deliver evidence-based care to women ranging from the care of normal, low risk women through to complex obstetric and medical care requiring an extensive multidisciplinary approach.

What you'll be doing
As a Clinical Midwife, you will be responsible for practicing with advanced clinical competence in the provision of quality and cost-effective care in consultation with other members of the health care team.
This includes providing support and direction to other staff while role modelling and promoting qualified standards of practice and conduct.
Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards, you will be responsible for:
Actively contributing towards the Quality, Safety and Work, Health and Safety processes in the clinical area
Supporting the Midwifery Unit Manager in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
Provide clinical guidance,
leadership and education to members of the clinical team in order to ensure consistent and collaborative implementation of improvement activities
Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
Demonstrating advanced clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
About you
You are an experience Registered Midwife or Clinical Midwife.
To be successful in your application for this position it is essential that you have:
Current Midwifery registration with AHPRA
Significant post-graduate midwifery experience
Advanced clinical competency and the ability to maintain the highest standards of nursing/midwifery practice
Effective communication and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care within the multidisciplinary team
Commitment to the continuous improvement of health care and midwifery practice, and to continuing career development of self and others.
Willingness to commit to and role model the Mater values
You will be working in a fast-paced setting that requires someone who is enthusiastic, able to show initiative and work well in a team.
