Production Materials Operator

Bendcraft Products is seeking a motivated and reliableProduction Materials Operatorto join our growing manufacturing team in Albury.
This is a critical hands-on role within our production operation.
As the Production Materials Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring our manufacturing departments are continuously supplied with accurately prepared material, enabling production to operate safely, efficiently and on schedule.
Working closely with the Workshop Production Manager, you will play an significant role in maintaining production flow by accurately cutting, preparing and delivering steel and aluminium products to multiple manufacturing work centres.

About the Role
Reporting directly to theWorkshop Production Manager, you will be responsible for preparing and supplying materials that keep our production departments operating efficiently.
Your primary responsibility will be retrieving raw materials from warehouse storage, accurately cutting steel and aluminium to production cut lists, and ensuring each manufacturing work centre receives the correct material at the right time.




This role is essential to maintaining production efficiency.
Your ability to accurately prepare materials, maintain organised stock and proactively support manufacturing will directly contribute to meeting production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately cut steel, aluminium and other materials to production cut lists.
Ensure production work centres are continuously supplied with the correct materials to minimise downtime.
Retrieve raw materials from warehouse storage and prepare them for production.
Operate horizontal band saws and other material preparation equipment safely and efficiently.
Safely operate forklifts to move steel products, including long and oversized materials.
Load, unload and store materials within warehouse racking systems.
Conduct accurate measuring and quality inspections before materials are released to production.
Assist with receiving incoming steel deliveries and maintaining organised inventory.
Support the Workshop Production Manager in achieving daily production schedules.
Maintain accurate stock organisation and material traceability.
Keep the warehouse and material preparation areas clean, organised and safe.
Maintain company equipment and report maintenance requirements promptly.
Comply with all Workplace Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures.
Work collaboratively with production staff to maximise workshop efficiency.
About You
The successful applicant will possess:
Previous experience within a steel manufacturing, fabrication or engineering environment.
Current Forklift Licence (essential).




Experience operating band saws or similar steel cutting equipment.
Experience safely handling long and heavy steel products.
Ability to accurately use measuring equipment and interpret production cut lists.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
A proactive approach with the ability to anticipate production requirements.
Strong work ethic, reliability and a positive attitude.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive workplace.
