The Company is in search of a General Counsel to serve as a trusted business partner, providing strategic and high-quality legal advice to leaders and teams across the global organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters, including advising the Board, CEO, and Executive Team on legal, regulatory, and governance issues, managing legal risk in contracts and transactions, and ensuring compliance with financial services regulatory frameworks. This role requires a commercially minded lawyer with a solid background in corporate law, commercial contracting, and regulatory compliance, who can also support growth initiatives and foster a positive, collaborative culture.Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company should have a minimum of 7 years' post-qualification experience as a generalist corporate or commercial lawyer, with a proven track record of advising senior executives on complex legal issues.
The role demands excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills, as well as the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives. The ideal candidate will be adept at working autonomously, managing competing priorities, and operating effectively under pressure, and must be admitted as a solicitor or barrister in an Australian jurisdiction.
