An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Cook to join our dedicated team at Palms Aged Care Service in Ingham, Queensland, with the ability to work at our Rockingham Aged Care Service in Cardwell as well.
In this rewarding role, you can step away from the late-night hospitality grind and focus on creating nutritious, high-quality meals that bring genuine comfort and enjoyment to our residents.
Working within a collaborative kitchen team, you will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences in a protected, welcoming, and person-centred environment.
Enjoy the opportunity to work across both our Cardwell and Palms services, where you will support residents while building meaningful connections with two welcoming and supportive teams.
Your Responsibilities As our Cook, you will: Prepare and cook a variety of meals with care, creativity, and attention to dietary requirementsEnsure all kitchen, food preparation, and storage areas are maintained to high hygiene and infection-control standardsMaintain accurate kitchen records and stock documentationAssist with stock ordering and liaise with suppliers and supervisors regarding kitchen suppliesWork collaboratively with the kitchen team to support smooth daily operationsContribute ideas for menus, themed meals,



and special events What You Will Bring You are someone who genuinely enjoys working with older people and understands the important role good food plays in health, wellbeing, and quality of life.
You are reliable, organised, and committed to safe food handling practices and teamwork.
You Will Also Have Demonstrated knowledge of commercial food preparation and food hygiene practicesMinimum one year experience working as a commercial CookCertificate IV in Commercial Cookery or relevant trade qualificationStrong understanding of food safety legislation, texture-modified diets, and special dietary requirementsExperience within the aged care sector (highly regarded)Current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain oneValid Australian working rights (unfortunately sponsorship is not available for this role) Importantly, you will be someone who closely aligns with our organisational values of Integrity, Compassion, Excellence and Courage.
