The Role
Reporting to the Hydraulic Design Team Operations Manager, you will contribute to the design and delivery of hydraulic (plumbing) systems across a diverse range of residential, commercial, industrial, and major infrastructure projects.
You will be involved across multiple project stages, supporting design development, documentation, coordination, and technical delivery while working closely with internal teams, clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Design hydraulic (plumbing) systems for residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
Complete hydraulic calculations for water services, sanitary drainage, stormwater, trade waste, and associated systems.
Assist with system sizing, layout coordination, and design optimisation.
Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, NCC requirements, and local authority regulations.
Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, fire services consultants, and structural teams to integrate building services.
Provide clear mark-ups and technical direction to drafting and modelling teams within CAD/Revit environments.
Support design reviews, issue resolution, and responses to contractor and site queries.
Contribute to quality assurance, documentation standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain awareness of industry standards, compliance updates, and emerging technologies.
Experience & Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Strong plumbing industry experience with a desire to transition into hydraulic consulting.
Practical understanding of hydraulic systems, installation methods, and construction practices.
Experience interpreting hydraulic drawings
Robust communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams, clients, and contractors.
Plumbing trade qualification certificate III and IV plumbing certificate.
Preferred Skills (Highly Regarded)
The following experience will be advantageous but is not essential:
Experience working on Tier 1 contractor-led projects or major health,
infrastructure, and commercial developments.
