About the Role
Western Health has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Patient Liaison Team in a full-time, fixed-term position (maternity leavecoverage).
This role is primarily based at our Sunshine and Footscray campuses, with occasional travelrequiredto other Western Health sites as needed.
We are seeking an individual that is team oriented and passionate about providing excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders whilst helping to drive successful revenue outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Extensive communication with patients, family, carers and hospital staff.
Fast paced Customer Service role in busy Public Hospital setting.
To determine the correct patient classification including Medicare ineligible patients.
Obtain patient information such as patient health insurance fund details.
Having financial discussions and obtaining paperwork and payments.
Liaising with health funds to determine patient eligibility.
Being responsible for the revenue recovery of Medicare Ineligible patients; this role actively promotes patients to pay upfront for their hospital journey in a timely manner to satisfy revenue department requirements.
About You
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Help drive successful revenue outcomes.
Health fund or previous PLO experience preferred.
Competency to interpret/analyse data.
Demonstrated ability to build rapport, negotiate and form relationships with patients and staff at all levels.
Being a team player and showing problem solving initiative.
Adaptable.
