Rustabuilt Pty Ltd are seeking a
2nd & 3rd Year Apprentice Carpenter
to join our growing family business based in Clyde, Victoria. This is a full-time opportunity to continue developing your carpentry skills in a supportive, hands-on environment while working towards becoming a qualified carpenter.
The role is primarily focused on
residential timber framing
, with opportunities to gain hands‐on experience across all aspects of residential construction as you progress through your apprenticeship. Most of our work is located throughout Melbourne's
south‐eastern suburbs
and the
Bass Coast
, offering a variety of quality projects and work environments. As a valued member of our close‐knit team, you'll receive ongoing mentoring, practical on‐the‐job training, and the support needed to develop your skills, build a robust foundation in carpentry, and enjoy a successful long‐term career in carpentry.
What you'll be doing
Assisting with the construction and installation of residential timber wall frames, floor systems, and roof trusses.
Measuring, cutting, and assembling timber framing components according to plans and project specifications.
Using hand and power tools safely and efficiently to complete framing tasks.
Assisting with frame set‐out, bracing, tie‐downs, and structural installations on residential building sites.
Loading, unloading, and organising building materials while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work site.
Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order and following all workplace health and safety requirements.
Attending scheduled TAFE training and completing all apprenticeship requirements as part of your ongoing development.
Working collaboratively with the team to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Gaining exposure to other aspects of residential carpentry as your skills and experience continue to develop.
What we're looking for
Successful completion of your 1st year of a carpentry apprenticeship with current registration
A strong understanding of basic carpentry techniques, tools, and safety procedures
Physical fitness and the ability to work on your feet for extended periods, often in varying weather conditions
Good mathematical skills for measuring, calculating dimensions, and reading blueprints
Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship
Reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to learn from experienced tradespeople
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A valid driver's licence and own reliable transport to access various job sites
A current Construction Induction White Card.
Willingness to continue your apprenticeship training and work towards your qualifications
