This new permanent position (0.6 FTE) is an opportunity for a talented and committed Radiation Oncologist to work within the established framework of a networked and integrated cancer service. The Radiation Oncologist will have the chance to influence the future of Radiation Oncology services across ISLHD. Whilst it might incorporate district wide responsibilities, the position is based at the Shoalhaven Cancer Care Centre, Nowra. A centre networked with other District facilities, providing essential cancer services for the growing South Coast population.
In this role you will provide high-quality diagnostic, consultative, procedural and on‐call specialty services in Radiation Oncology for all key tumours streams, and participate actively in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities commensurate with the Staff Specialists (State) Award. As a Staff Specialist you will ensure a high standard of professional performance and, where required, the encouragement of an academic environment which supports research and development. Interest and experience in treatment of Head and Neck/ Skin sites is desirable.

Specialist registration or eligible for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
2. Fellowship of the The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) and/or equivalent qualification in Radiation Oncology and current EPA licence.
3. Demonstrated involvement and leadership in quality improvement, education and research.
4. Demonstrated experience of continuing medical education and willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.
5. Proven capacity and/or experience in the delivery of effective high-quality care in the provision of radiation oncology services.
6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health service colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary health care team and communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff across multiple sites.
7. Demonstrated commitment to teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students and other staff of the hospital.
8. Current NSW Drivers Licence with willingness to travel between cancer centres in accordance with the demands of the position.
