Role Responsibilities
Youth Workers will be required to:
Deliver high-quality care and support within a 24-hour residential setting to children who are unable to live with their families, kinship carers, or foster carers.
Provide specialised disability support for young people with complex disabilities
(Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Non-verbal)
Provide assistance with:
PEG Feeding
Personal care (full support which includes toileting, showering & feeding)
Use of ceiling hoists/slings to safely transfer the client
Medication administration
Work a variety of shifts, including:
Day shifts: 6:*******:00 & 06:********
Afternoon shifts with sleepover – from 14:00 until 09:00am the next day
Respond to the young person's physical, emotional and functional needs and support the development of their personal skills.
Work within a team to provide
disability care,
trauma-informed and therapeutic care
to young people presenting with complex needs due to past trauma and abuse.
Provide a protected and homely environment while supporting young people to achieve their goals.
Assist with administrative requirements and household duties.
What You Need
A minimum
Certificate III in Individual Support




or a
Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention
or a recognised tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Community Services, or a related qualification.
Experience supporting high-risk youth in a residential care setting.
Experience supporting children and young people with disabilities, including Cerebral Palsy.
Australian Driver's License (international licenses not accepted).
Current
First Aid Certificate with CPR
.
Working with Children Check
(paid employee status).
National Police Check
(current).
Reliable car with registration certificate.
Reliable smart phone with data.
Ability to work a combination of morning, afternoon, and overnight shifts (active and/or sleepover).
Previous experience working with children and young people with complex needs
