Purpose and Main Responsibilities
The purpose of the role is to support the Senior Planner with site assessments, due diligence and planning approval activities across GreenPoint Energy's portfolio of early-stage renewable energy (wind, solar and battery) across Australia. The role requires a person with a passion for working with local communities and Government to build Australia's renewable energy future.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
0–3 years of experience in town planning, development approvals, or environmental planning, preferably within the renewable energy, , or infrastructure sectors (graduates welcome to apply)
Tertiary qualification in Urban/Town Planning, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
Developing knowledge of State and Local planning policies, legislation, codes and guidelines and environmental approval processes across Australian jurisdictions, with a willingness to build expertise on the job
Some exposure to liaising with Local and State Government bodies and other authorities/agencies, or a strong interest in developing this experience
Enthusiasm for building relationships with diverse stakeholders, including members of the public and local communities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail

Your job responsibilities will be broadly, but not limited to, the below. This includes supporting the Senior Planner by:




Assisting with planning and environmental approvals for projects at Local, State and Federal levels
Organising and attending meetings with Local and State Governments, and other authorities/agencies
Communicating effectively and appropriately with a diverse range of stakeholders, including members of the public
Supporting internal project management to progress the development of projects

Assist in tracking project milestones and key deliverables
Assist in engaging a range of technical experts to facilitate the development approval process
Assist in achieving planning approval for a range of Renewable Energy Projects
Assist in community engagement activities
