About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the City of Melbourne's Grants & Sponsorships team and contribute to the delivery of impactful funding programs that support our community, economy and city priorities.
As the Grants & Sponsorships Advisor, you will support the ongoing governance, administration and continuous improvement of City of Melbourne's organisation wide grants and sponsorship programs. Working closely with internal stakeholders, funding recipients and external partners, you will help drive consistent processes, improve program efficiency, optimise systems, and contribute to strong governance and reporting outcomes.
This role provides an opportunity to influence how funding programs are delivered across the organisation while ensuring programs remain effective, compliant and user-focused.
A little more about the role
In this role you will:
Support governance activities associated with City of Melbourne's Grants and Sponsorship Policy and funding programs.
Contribute to the development and implementation of frameworks that align funding outcomes with Council Plan priorities.
Manage and optimise the SmartyGrants system to support efficient program delivery across the organisation.
Build and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders, funding recipients, applicants and service providers.
Support organisation wide grants and sponsorship communications and reporting activities.
Monitor program delivery and identify opportunities to improve processes, service quality and user experience.
Prepare reports,



presentations and program performance updates for a variety of stakeholders.
Collect, analyse and report on program data and performance metrics to support continuous improvement and decision making.

About you
You are a proactive and collaborative professional who enjoys improving processes, building stakeholder relationships and delivering meaningful outcomes.
You are comfortable working across multiple programs and priorities, balancing operational delivery with strategic thinking. You enjoy working with data, systems and governance frameworks and can confidently engage with a wide range of stakeholders to resolve issues and identify improvements.
You are highly organised, solutions focused and thrive in an environment where continuous improvement and customer service are valued.
What your experience might look like
Experience in grants, sponsorships, funding program management, partnerships, project management or a related discipline.
Experience managing contracts, agreements or programs within governance, policy and risk management frameworks.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence outcomes and build productive relationships.
Experience administering systems and processes,



ideally including SmartyGrants or a similar grants management platform.
Strong analytical and problem solving capability with experience identifying process improvements and efficiencies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including reporting and presentation experience.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.
Knowledge of the City of Melbourne funding landscape will be highly regarded.
