Role Purpose
The Human Resources Officer plays a central role in supporting MAG Apprenticeships' mission to develop, place, and support apprentices across VIC, NSW & QLD. The position ensures smooth HR operations, delivers high‐quality support to staff and apprentices, and contributes to a positive, compliant, and people‐focused workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding — Coordinate end‐to‐end recruitment for internal staff and apprentices, including job ads, screening, interviews, and onboarding documentation.
Employee Relations — Provide guidance to managers and apprentices on HR policies, performance, conduct, and conflict resolution.
Compliance Management — Maintain compliance with Fair Work legislation, apprenticeship contracts, WHS requirements, and organisational policies.
Training & Development — Support professional development programs, track mandatory training,



and coordinate learning opportunities for apprentices and staff.
HR Administration — Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, onboarding packs, and HRIS data.
Performance Support — Assist with performance review cycles, probation check‐ins, and improvement plans.
Payroll Support — Liaise with payroll to ensure accurate employee data, award interpretation, and apprentice wage progression.
Culture & Engagement — Contribute to engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and wellbeing activities.
Skills & Experience
HR qualifications or equivalent experience
Strong understanding of Fair Work, apprenticeship contracts, and award interpretation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
Experience with HRIS platforms, onboarding systems, or payroll interfaces
Robust organisational and time‐management skills
Problem‐solving mindset and ability to work independently
