About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Superintendent Power Station to join a major remote industrial operation supporting critical onsite power generation infrastructure. Reporting to the Power Generation Supervisor, this role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the site's power station to maintain continuous supply to operational facilities.
This position will suit an operator with strong experience within mining, utilities, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environments who is comfortable working in remote FIFO operations and thrives in high-performing operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor onsite power generation systems including diesel and/or heavy fuel power generation units, switchgear, transformers, and auxiliary equipment
Maintain reliable and reliable power supply through effective plant monitoring and operational control
Conduct routine inspections, equipment checks, and operational assessments across generation assets
Monitor and respond to alarms, faults, and abnormal operating conditions through SCADA/DCS platforms
Perform switching, synchronization, isolation, and load management activities in accordance with site procedures
Support shutdowns, commissioning activities, start-ups, and maintenance coordination
Identify and troubleshoot operational issues while working closely with maintenance and engineering teams to minimize downtime
Complete shift reports, operational logs, permits, and handover documentation accurately
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and statutory requirements
Participate in emergency response activities and incident investigations where required
Support continuous improvement initiatives and mentor junior operators where appropriate

Requirements
Previous experience operating power generation facilities within mining, industrial processing,



oil & gas, utilities, or heavy industry
Strong understanding of generation systems, switchgear, electrical distribution networks, and power station operations
Experience operating medium to large-scale diesel or HFO generation equipment highly regarded
Exposure to SCADA and/or Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability within operational environments
Demonstrated commitment to safety, operational discipline, and procedural compliance
HV Switching or HV Operations certification highly desirable
Trade or technical qualification within Electrical, Mechanical, or Power Generation disciplines preferred
Previous FIFO or remote-site operational experience advantageous
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Remote or isolated power station operations
Experience with large industrial generation systems and associated infrastructure
Exposure to preventative maintenance coordination and reliability-focused operations
Familiarity with SAP or CMMS platforms
