What you'll do
Collaborate with the visual effects and animation teams to create seamless composites that enhance the storytelling of our projects.
Utilize Nuke to combine various elements, including 3D renders, live-action footage, and matte paintings, ensuring a cohesive final product.
Work closely with the art director and lead compositor to understand the creative vision and technical requirements for each project.
Troubleshoot and resolve compositing issues, ensuring high-quality output that meets project deadlines.
Participate in reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages artistic growth.
Stay updated with the latest compositing techniques and software developments to continually improve workflow efficiency.
Assist in the creation of visual effects shots, including keying, rotoscoping, and color correction,
to enhance the overall visual quality.
Prepare and manage project files, ensuring proper organization and version control throughout the production process.
Mentor junior compositors and interns, sharing knowledge and best practices to elevate the team's skill set.
Contribute to the development of internal tools and processes that streamline compositing workflows and improve project outcomes.
Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas and solutions for upcoming projects.
Ensure that all work adheres to the studio's quality standards and artistic vision, maintaining consistency across all assets.
Requirements
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in compositing, specifically using Nuke.
Strong portfolio showcasing a range of compositing work, demonstrating technical skills and artistic sensibility.
Proficiency in color theory, lighting, and visual storytelling principles.
Experience with 3D compositing and integration of 3D elements into live-action footage.
Familiarity with other software tools such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and 3D software (Maya, Blender, etc.) is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate creative ideas clearly.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges.
Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
A collaborative mindset, with a willingness to share knowledge and learn from others.
Nice to have
Experience in animation or visual effects production for feature films or television series.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or TCL to automate repetitive tasks within Nuke.
Familiarity with VR or AR compositing techniques.
Previous experience mentoring or leading a team of artists.
A degree in Animation, Visual Effects, Fine Arts, or a related field.
