The Commis Chef assists in the smooth operation of the kitchen by performing cooking and food preparation duties. This position may prepare and present hot and cold dishes for a la carte and function services, as well as support the ongoing development of the kitchens by maintaining high-quality products and production levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations Performance
Prepare and service all food items for a la carte and function menus according to Tabcorp Park recipes and standards.
Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefings
Maintain proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimize wastage/spoilage
Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment




Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food
Perform any other duty that may be reasonably regards as relevant to the job as directed by management.
Team Contribution
Build effective work relationships. Work co-operatively with team members, assist others, contribute to team performance and demonstrate support for Melton Entertainment Park's commitment to a harassment free workplace.
Communicate with all staff in a courteous and professional manner.
Customer Service
Deliver excellent customer service by demonstrating Tabcorp Park service and performance standards applicable to the kitchen

SKILL AND EXPERIENCE
Qualifications and Experience
Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent experience
Skills and Attributes
Detailed knowledge of professional kitchen standards
Culinary Creativity
Highly focused attitude towards customer service
Effective team player
Friendly nature
Calm under pressure
High level of personal grooming and hygiene standards
Able to cope with the rigours of shift work

CPR/ First Aid Certificate

AVAILABILITY
Must be available to work a rotating roster including days, nights, weekends and all major events.
