Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is an open cut mine that provides the opportunity to live and work locally. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both dragline and load haul systems for their continuous operations. The MTW Mine is the largest open cut operation in the region, employing approximately 1,450 people who reside in the local and surrounding communities.
Job Tasks And Responsibilities
Yancoal Mount Thorley Warkworth is seeking an experienced and motivated Supervisor to join the CHPP Production team. Reporting to the CHPP Superintendent and working a 4-panel rotating day and night roster (12-hour shifts), the Production Supervisor is accountable for providing leadership, direction and support to the crew members while ensuring the safe,
reliable and efficient operation of the CHPP. As a member of the CHPP team, this role will contribute to achieving plan on a page target and building an inclusive safety culture that enhances the Yancoal - Our Way.
Key Responsibilities Include
Leading, mentoring and effectively managing a multi skilled crew to safely deliver production targets;
Planning, scheduling & coordinating the day-to-day work, assigning explicit and achievable tasks to team members;
Ensuring all team members are engaged through clear understanding of role accountabilities and performance measures by providing regular coaching and feedback;
Promoting a robust safety culture through visible leadership, risk management and compliance with site safety systems;
Maintaining MTW's licence to operate through compliance with workplace inspections, housekeeping standards and statutory requirements;
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, productivity and cost effectiveness.
Skills And Experience

To succeed in the role, you will also demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
Relevant trade qualifications (Electrical or Mechanical);
Demonstrated experience in a similar supervisory role within a CHPP environment;
A proactive, solution focused approach with a robust commitment towards safety;
Strong technical knowledge of CHPP operations;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven stakeholder engagement experience;
Sound understanding of coal quality management and train loading processes;
Proficient in the use of computer systems i.e. SAP, Microsoft office suite;
Ability to lead, coach and develop teams to achieve operational objectives.
