The Information Technology Unit (ITU) is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to join our Test Analysis and Automation Chapter within Cloud & Infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong automation professional with Salesforce testing expertise who is passionate about quality engineering, continuous improvement and leveraging AI to enhance testing practices. Working within an agile environment, you will play a key role in developing and advancing automated testing capabilities that support the delivery of reliable, secure and high-performing technology solutions across the University.
About the Team
The Information Technology Unit provides the core technologies that enable UTS to teach, learn, conduct research and operate effectively. Working within cross-functional squads and the Test Analysis and Automation Chapter, you'll collaborate with developers, business analysts, testers and technology specialists to deliver innovative and high-quality technology outcomes. The team embraces agile delivery, innovation and continuous learning, with an increasing focus on AI-enabled ways of working and up-to-date quality engineering practices.
About the Role
As a Test Automation Engineer, you will design, develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and solutions that ensure the quality, reliability and security of UTS applications and platforms. A key focus of this position is Salesforce testing and automation.



You will contribute hands‐on technical expertise across automation frameworks, test scripting, integration testing and continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with stakeholders across multiple technology teams. In addition, the role will champion practical AI adoption within the chapter by exploring emerging use cases, sharing learnings and supporting colleagues in the responsible application of AI technologies within testing and quality engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks and automation suites.
Deliver automated functional, integration, regression, user acceptance and release testing across key university systems.
Develop and execute automation scripts to improve quality, consistency and testing efficiency.
Collaborate with developers, analysts and delivery teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Identify automation opportunities and continuously improve testing processes and practices.
Support Salesforce testing and quality assurance activities across enterprise platforms.
Develop and maintain automated test data, test repositories and supporting documentation.
Investigate, report and assist in the resolution of software defects and technical issues.
Contribute to DevSecOps and continuous integration practices.
Explore, evaluate and promote AI-driven opportunities to enhance testing and quality engineering outcomes.
Remuneration
Base Salary:



$129,455 - $137,609 (HEW 8)
This role attracts 17% employer superannuation in addition to the base salary.
This position is offered on a
6-months fixed-term basis
.
