Looking to kick-start or grow your career in hospitality? We're looking for enthusiastic and reliable Casual Kitchenhands to join the UQ Venues team. Working alongside experienced chefs and hospitality professionals, you'll play an important role behind the scenes, helping deliver exceptional dining experiences across weddings, corporate events, conferences and special occasions. You'll primarily be based at the award-winning Customs House, recently recognised as the **** Queensland & Northern Territory Wedding Caterer of the Year. As operationally required, you'll also have the opportunity to work across UQ's hospitality and events venues, gaining valuable experience across a diverse range of kitchens, events and service environments. Key Responsibilities
Wash and sanitise dishes, cookware, utensils and kitchen equipment.
Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment.
Assist chefs with basic food preparation and kitchen support duties.
Receive, unpack and store deliveries.
Support kitchen setup, service and pack down for events and functions.
Dispose of waste and maintain recycling and sustainability practices.
Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
Work collaboratively with chefs and the broader hospitality team.
Undertake other reasonable duties as required.
About You
We're looking for people who enjoy working as part of a team and take pride in maintaining high standards. You will bring:

Positive attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Availability to work a flexible casual roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or hospitality environment will be highly regarded, however applicants with the right attitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
