About the role
We are seeking an experienced
General Manager
to join Corowa Golf Club on a
full-time basis
. This is a strategic leadership position based in
Corowa, NSW
, where you will oversee all aspects of club operations and drive the club towards its business objectives. As General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management, profitability, and development of the club, working closely with the Board of Directors to ensure the club operates efficiently.
This role will be a key driver of business stabilization and growth initiatives following the recent voluntary administration.
Key responsibilities
Oversee all daily operational activities of the golf club, including course maintenance, clubhouse operations, and member services
Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance club profitability, membership growth, and member satisfaction
Manage financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control across all club operations
Lead, recruit, and manage a diverse team of staff members, fostering a positive workplace culture and providing development opportunities
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, licenses, and industry standards
Build and maintain strong relationships with members, guests, and key stakeholders
Oversee marketing and promotional activities to enhance club profile and attract new members
Manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure quality and value




Report regularly to the Board of Directors on club performance, strategic initiatives, and key metrics
Identify and implement operational improvements and innovations to enhance efficiency and member experience
What we're looking for
Proven experience in a general management or senior operational management role, preferably within a golf club, hospitality, leisure, or similar membership-based organisation
Strong financial acumen with demonstrated ability to manage budgets, P&L; statements, and drive profitability
Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and develop staff
Strategic thinking capability with the ability to develop and execute business plans
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
Knowledge of golf club operations and member-based business models is highly desirable
Sound understanding of compliance, risk management, and governance requirements
Problem-solving ability with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
Experience in marketing, membership development, and revenue generation
Relevant qualifications in business management, hospitality management, or a related discipline
Required Licensing
Tier 2 Advanced Licensee Qualifiation
AML/CTF Competent
Level 2 Food Safety Supervisor
Certified Gaming Analyst (or equivalent)
