Occupational Therapist & Speech Pathologist
We have an exciting opportunity for passionate and motivated Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists to join Biala Peninsula as EarlyChildhood Allied Health Practitioners.
Biala Peninsula Head Office is located in Mornington, however successful candidate can work flexibly from Melbourne to Sorrento.
In this role you will be supporting children with specific developmental needs, delays, or disabilities to achieve their therapeutic goals and build the capacity of parents and caregivers. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and reporting to a Biala Team Leader.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Provide high quality, evidence-based assessment, intervention and support to children with disabilities and their families/carers
Achieve a warm, friendly relationship with children, one that is supportive of, and responsive to, the physical, social and emotional needs of each child.
For each individual client, set specific, functional and measurable goals and evaluate progress against these goals.
Provide intervention, training, support and consultation services in a manner that promotes community inclusion of Biala clients in other services and community organisations they may attend.
Work collaborative and respectfully with all staff, parents and other service providers in the provision of services.
Manage a varied paediatric caseload alongside a multidisciplinary team and meet client targets
Observe, record and assess children's progress as required and provide written and verbal reports to parents and other professionals within nominated timelines.
About You
You are a
Speech Pathologist or Occupational Therapist
(new graduate or an experienced therapist) who is energic,



proactive and passionate about the work that you do.
You pride yourself on your ability to achieve warm, friendly relationships with children and their families, one that is supportive of and responsive to the physical, social and emotional needs of each child.
Previous experience working in a paediatric NDIS service provision setting (desirable).
Bachelors degree or higher in a relevant discipline (i.e., Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology)
Sound knowledge of discipline specific intervention for working in a paediatric setting with children withdisabilities and developmental concerns within the EarlyChildhood Approach.
An understanding of the requirements of working in the NDIS setting and from a capacity building EarlyChildhood Approach.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage own time, deadline driven with exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills.
