About the role
Optiver is looking for a seasoned ETF Trader to join our Trading team in Sydney as we expand our operations. This position plays a vital role in a dynamic and collaborative setting, offering the chance to influence strategy, coverage, and execution across a diverse range of ETFs.

What you'll do
Manage risk, quote, and execute trades for ETFs, utilizing both on-screen and over-the-counter methods.
Analyze market structure, relative value, and trading flow to identify and seize trading opportunities.
Collaborate with quantitative analysts, engineers, and fellow traders to enhance pricing models and execution tools.
Requirements
A minimum of 3 years of experience in trading ETFs, cash products, or similar financial instruments.
In-depth knowledge of ETF mechanics, including valuation, basket construction, and the differences between primary and secondary markets.
Strong understanding of market structure and the interaction between ETFs and their underlying assets.
Familiarity with Chinese markets is a plus, though not mandatory.




Proficient in data analysis to support trading decisions; experience with Python or comparable programming languages is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a cooperative, cross‐functional team environment.
Nice to have
Experience with quantitative analysis or algorithmic trading strategies.
Skills & tools
Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages for data analysis.
Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.
Familiarity with trading platforms and market data tools.
