We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant / Accounts Payable Officer to join the finance team at our Oakey processing plant.
Key Responsibilities
Process Accounts Payable invoices in line with company policies and procedures
Manage vendor setup and maintain accurate supplier records
Prepare and process weekly batch payments
Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Reconcile and maintain accurate records for petty cash
Reconcile and monitor corporate card transactions
Assist with accounting tasks including posting journals and preparing journal entries
Maintain accurate and organised filing of financial records and documentation
Support the Finance Manager with various accounting functions and reporting requirements
Assist in reviewing and improving Accounts Payable processes, supporting end-to-end workflow from invoice entry through to payment
Ensure accuracy and timeliness in all financial transactions




Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Basic understanding of accounting principles
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Positive communication skills and a proactive attitude
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (desirable)
Must have Australian work rights
Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Assistant Accountant role (preferred)
Minimum of 6-12 months experience in accounts payable or assistant accountant role
