About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and engagingPrimary HPE Teacherto join the Health and Physical Education Faculty at Sheldon College for aTerm 4 Long Service Leave cover.
Working within a dynamic team of dedicated educators, you will deliver high-quality Health and Physical Education programs that inspire students to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to lead active, healthy lifestyles.
You will create engaging and differentiated learning experiences that promote participation, wellbeing and lifelong learning.
While the role has a primary focus, the successful applicant may be required to teach Health and Physical Education across Prep to Year 10.
This role includes responsibility for student safety and wellbeing, requiring compliance with the College's Child Safe Standards, policies and procedures, and all relevant legislative and duty of care obligations.
This is a full-time fixed-term opportunity for Term 4, ****, providing Long Service Leave cover.

About You
Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications in Health and Physical Education and Primary Education
Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration
Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging Health and Physical Education programs aligned with ACARA and QCAA
Passion for quality teaching and learning with the ability to foster strong student engagement and academic achievement
Ability to differentiate learning to meet diverse student needs
Experience incorporating innovative teaching practices and digital technologies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
Collaborative approach with a willingness to contribute to a high-performing team
High standards of professionalism, integrity and reflective practice
Warm, enthusiastic and student-centred approach
Child Safety and Wellbeing
Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration
Commitment to upholding child safety, student wellbeing, duty of care and appropriate professional conduct within a school environment
Ability to comply with and uphold the College's Child Safety and Wellbeing policies, procedures and Staff Code of Conduct
Ability to create and maintain a secure, inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students
Completion of mandatory Child Protection, Student Safety and Wellbeing and mandatory reporting training (or willingness to complete prior to commencement)




Responsibility for identifying, responding to and reporting student safety and wellbeing concerns in accordance with legislative requirements and College policies
Sheldon College has a zero-tolerance approach to any behaviours that compromise student safety and wellbeing, including child abuse.
The College prescribes to the Universal Principle that all children have the right to feel safe, respected, and heard, protected from all forms of abuse, harm, and neglect in a culturally safe environment.
All staff are required to uphold the College's Child Safety and Wellbeing framework, including the Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy, Staff Code of Conduct, and Raising and Responding to Concerns Policy.
It is an inherent requirement of all staff members' employment to meet mandatory reporting obligations.
Staff must apply a culturally sensitive and trauma informed approach in all Child Wellbeing related activities and Child Safety investigations across all areas of the College.
Successful applicants must demonstrate a commitment to child safety and will be required to complete all mandatory training and compliance requirements prior to undertaking duties.
