Maintenance Lead - Temp to Perm ($60-$65/hr)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Lead to join our operations team. Reporting to the Plant and Maintenance Superintendent, you will play a critical role in ensuring our plant, equipment, and facilities operate safely, reliably, and at optimum performance.
This is an initial temporary opportunity with a solid possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.
As the Maintenance Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating preventative and breakdown maintenance activities, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and leading a small maintenance team to deliver outstanding operational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and execute preventative and breakdown maintenance activities
Lead and support maintenance shutdowns and equipment overhauls
Coordinate and supervise contractors, suppliers, and external service providers
Manage and continuously improve the preventative maintenance program
Monitor critical spare parts inventory and oversee engineering stores
Assist with maintenance budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
Work closely with production teams to maximise plant uptime and reliability
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance systems and processes
Lead, mentor,
and develop maintenance personnel to achieve business objectives
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies and statutory requirements
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical discipline
Minimum 5 years' experience in a maintenance supervisory or leadership role within manufacturing
Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and plant reliability practices
Experience working with industrial plant equipment including pumps, gearboxes, compressors, motors, and heat exchangers
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Experience managing contractors and external service providers
Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS/MEX preferred)
