About the role
We are seeking a dedicated
Assistant in Nursing
to join our Mary Potter Nursing Home team Monday to Thursday 7am - 3.00pm. This is a
part time position
offering flexibility whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. As an Assistant in Nursing, you will provide essential support to our nursing team, assisting with the day-to-day care and comfort of aged care residents. This role is fundamental to maintaining the high standards of care we provide and contributes significantly to creating a supportive and nurturing environment.
Key responsibilities
Providing personal care assistance to residents, including bathing, grooming, toileting and dressing
Assisting residents with mobility and transferring safely using appropriate techniques and equipment
Supporting registered nurses with routine clinical tasks and observations
Maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for residents
Responding promptly and compassionately to resident requests and concerns
Assisting with feeding and hydration support as required
Communicating effectively with the nursing team and other staff members about resident needs and changes
Maintaining accurate and confidential resident records as directed




Contributing to a positive and supportive atmosphere for residents and fellow team members
What we're looking for
A Certificate III in Aged Care, Health Services Assistance or equivalent qualification
Current First Aid certification highly preferred
A genuine passion for providing compassionate care to older adults
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen actively and respond sensitively
Physical capability to assist residents with mobility and personal care tasks safely
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow direction from registered nurses
Reliability and commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism
Understanding of aged care principles, including dignity, respect and person-centred care
Relevant experience in aged care or healthcare settings is highly valued
Ability to work respectfully and compassionately within a multicultural and diverse environment
Police check and rights to work these hours are required
