Job Description
The trustee for Hanna Family Trust Tina's Kindergarten is looking for a Childcare educator in a 2-3-year-old room who leads play-based learning, manages daily routines (meals, sleeping, toileting), and observes developmental milestones in alignment with the Early Years Learning Framework (ELYF).
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Deliver high-quality care and education for children aged 2-3 years.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan play-based learning: Design age-appropriate activities focusing on sensory, motor, and language development.
Implement EYLF: Align daily programs with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) learning outcomes.
Document learning: Maintain accurate observations, learning stories, and portfolios for individual children.
Support transitions: Guide children through daily routine changes like meal times, sleep times, and group activities.
Child Care & Development Assist toilet training: Partner with parents to support toddlers transitioning from nappies to toilet use.
Promote independence: Encourage self-help skills including feeding, dressing, and packing away toys.
Manage emotional growth: Co-regulate tantrums, big emotions, and separation anxiety with empathy and patience.
Maintain hygiene: Oversee regular handwashing, nappy changes, and sanitisation of the room and resources.
Health & Safety Supervise actively: Maintain strict visual and auditory supervision of all toddlers at all times.
Risk assessment: Identify and eliminate environmental hazards within the room and outdoor yard.




Administer first aid: Manage minor injuries, record incidents accurately, and administer medication per regulations.
Follow child protection: Uphold mandatory reporting requirements and child safeguarding standards.
Collaborative Relationships Partner with families: Conduct daily verbal handovers and provide updates via communication apps.
Work as a team: Collaborate with room leaders and co-educators to maintain a harmonious room environment.
Engage in reflection: Participate in team meetings and career development to improve teaching practices.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualifications & Experience Education: Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.
First Aid: Valid HLTAID012 (Provide
Clearances: Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
Experience: Proven experience managing the specific developmental needs of 2-3-year-olds.
Personal Attributes Resilience: High energy levels to keep pace with active toddlers.
Communication: Clear, positive verbal skills for interacting with young children and parents.
Patience: Deep understanding of toddler developmental milestones and behavioural challenges.
