We are seeking a Senior Project Accountantto support a portfolio of major infrastructure projects, with a focus on the application of accounting standards across complex project and contract arrangements.
A key aspect of the role is acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors on project-related matters, and working closely with Project Directors, Commercial teams, Legal teams and Finance Managers to ensure projects are supported, reporting risks are understood, and outcomes align with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide guidance on the application of accounting standards, including revenue recognition and project accounting matters.
Review monthly project reporting to ensure accounting treatments are appropriate, supportable and compliant.
Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors on project-related matters.
Coordinate responses to audit queries and support audit requirements across project portfolios.
Identify and assess financial reporting risks and recommend appropriate accounting treatments.
Prepare accounting position papers for significant contracts and project-related matters.




Develop a detailed understanding of assigned project portfolios and associated accounting risks.
Communicate technical accounting matters and reporting outcomes to senior stakeholders across the business.

To be successful, you will bring:
Robust technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
Well versed in external audit processes and how they apply in complex reporting environments.
Experience applying accounting standards within complex project, infrastructure, construction, audit or corporate environments.
Demonstrated experience preparing accounting papers and supporting technical accounting positions.
The ability to communicate complex accounting issues clearly to senior stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills, sound judgement and attention to detail.
CA (preferred) or CPA qualification and a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
