Salary: $105k per annum + NFP Salary Packaging ($15,900 per FBT in General Living Expenses; $2,650 per FBT in Meal Entertainment) + 12% Super

Your Purpose
The Family Intervention Service endeavours to create a context for change to empower families to address child protection issues by providing quality therapeutic intervention.
This is done using a therapeutic suite of services including individual support to parent or child; family counselling or mediation and group work where appropriate to a family to support families where significant child protection concerns have been identified, with the aim of maintaining families where a child/ren remains living at home or reunifying children to their family home where this is in their best interests and assessed by Dept of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety herein referred to as Child Safety.
Your Day-to-Day
Deliver the family case plan goals as developed in conjunction with Child Safety.
Work in partnership with Child Safety staff and collaborate with other family support services to ensure case plan goals are addressed in a timely manner in a family's community.
Provide an integrated and responsive therapeutic suite of services including individual and family counselling and group work where appropriate to a child/ren and their family.




Ensure Collaborative Family Decision Making is applied whenever a critical decision about a child's safety, belonging or wellbeing is required.
This includes assessment, planning, monitoring and review of activities.
Ensure critical decisions are made through the application of best practice for engaging the child, their family, extended family and community and empowering them to make decisions.
Support parents to develop the practical skills required to care for their child, improve the safety of the family home environment and strengthen the attachment between parent and child/ren within a strengths-based and evidence informed practice framework.
Provide regular contact and coordination support to families.
Provide a varied combination of one-to-one support to a parent or child, group work, centre-based services and in-home support.
Report and case note the work undertaken with individuals and families in a timely manner and according to deadlines.
Reporting to Child Safety via informal and formal mechanisms, including supplying relevant client reports and updates, attendance at stakeholder meetings and regular review meetings.
Attend and actively participate in regular line management and skilled supervision.
This is a role that at times involves additional work outside of office hours to fulfil the duties of the position".

What You Bring
Hold qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or Human Services,



which provide eligibility for membership of either the Queensland Psychologists Board of Registration or the Australian Association of Social Workers, Australian Counselling Association or the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.
High-level skills in the provision of quality therapeutic interventions and framework within a case management model with families where significant child protection issues have been identified.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with an emphasis on effective interpersonal skills negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
High level understanding and application of client case noting and record keeping.
Commitment to working within a professional team, with an ability to articulate the key principles and processes for good team dynamics.
Demonstrated ability to proactively support the Values, Principles and Purposes of All Lifeline Darling Downs and South West Qld (LDDSQWL).
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles and practices of Employment Equity, Ethical Conduct and Work Health & Safety.
Working with Children Blue Card.
Current Queensland "C" class drivers' licence
