About the Role
Jands are seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to join their specialised service team based in Mascot.
This is a hands-on,component-level repairrole supporting professional audio, lighting and staging equipment.
You'll be working with complex electronics, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, updates and modifications, and ensuring products are returned to customers performing exactly as intended.
You'll collaborate closely with Service Administrators and internal teams to provide accurate repair assessments, reports, timeframes and technical advice - balancing technical quality with customer expectations.
This role will suit someone who enjoys deep technical problem-solving, a mechanical aptitude, takes pride in workmanship, and wants to work with professional-grade equipment in a structured, well-run environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Building and maintaining strong technical knowledge across new and existing products across the product portfolio.
Inspecting, testing, fault-diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing products at component level, in line with manufacturer guidelines.
Performing firmware and hardware updates, modifications and compliance work.
Working with Service Administrators to provide accurate reports, quotes, repair timelines and technical input.
Maintaining clear, accurate records in required systems and platforms.
Contributing to continuous improvement of service quality, processes and technical capability.
About You
Jands are looking for a technician who brings strong technical fundamentals, practical experience, and a professional mindset.
Key requirements for this role include:
A qualification in Electronics (Trade Certificate III or equivalent preferred) OR extensive expertise in the sector.
Proven experience in fault-finding acrossdigital and analogue electronics.
Strongcircuit board re-workskills, including the ability toread and interpret schematics(essential).
Experience working withprofessional audio, lighting or staging equipment(highly regarded).
Exposure to distributed audio networks (advantageous, not essential).
A methodical, safety-focused approach to technical work.
The ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, includingwriting technical reports.
A customer-oriented mindset with robust attention to detail.
A current Class C Driver's Licence.
