Take ownership of a critical compliance and tax function within a well-established commercial organisation. You will step into a hands-on role supporting a high-performing finance team during a key period, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs. This is a practical, detail-focused role where your expertise will directly support governance, reporting accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
This opportunity is ideal if you are available to start immediately and are looking to secure a longer-term position after an initial contract period. You will gain exposure to a complex regulatory environment while working closely with experienced finance leaders who value accountability, precision, and continuous improvement. Once converted to permanent, you will be rewarded with a performance bonus and generous benefits, including additional leave entitlements.
Reporting to the Finance Director, your responsibilities will include:
Deliver end-to-end corporate tax compliance, including BAS/IAS, income tax, and statutory reporting
Manage direct and indirect tax calculations,

lodgements, and ongoing obligations
Liaise with the ATO and relevant regulatory bodies on compliance matters
Support audit processes, financial planning, and governance initiatives
Oversee payroll processing and ensure all associated reporting and compliance requirements are met
Partner with internal stakeholders and external advisors to provide accurate financial and tax guidance
To be considered, you will bring:
CA or CPA qualification (essential)
Experience in a tax, compliance, or financial accounting role
Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation and statutory reporting requirements
Experience with ERP systems (SAP highly regarded) and advanced Excel capability
High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines
Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style
This role is available for an immediate start, initially as a short-term contract for a few months, with a clear view to converting to a permanent position. If you are available now and looking for a role that offers both immediate impact and longer-term potential, this is worth exploring.
