About The Role
The Kooralbyn International School is seeking a passionate and skilled
Learning Support Teacher (Secondary)
to join our team.
This is a hands-on role for an educator who thrives on
impact, not just theory
—supporting students with diverse learning needs and working alongside teachers to create genuinely inclusive classrooms. This student focused role requires you to work closely with teachers to deliver interventions, support inclusive classroom practice, and improve student outcomes.
We encourage applications from suitably qualified and experienced teachers seeking a classroom-based Learning Support role, while also appealing to experienced Learning Support Teachers who are ready to take the next step into a leadership position.
Depending on the successful applicant's qualifications, experience and leadership capability, the position may be appointed as a
Learning Support Teacher, Learning Support Coordinator or Head of Learning Support
.

Responsibilities
Deliver targeted
literacy and numeracy interventions
(small group and individual)
Provide
in-class support
to improve engagement, organisation, and participation
Develop and monitor
IEPs/ICPs
aligned to student needs
Support teachers with
curriculum differentiation and adjustments
Use assessment data to inform intervention and track progress
Collaborate with staff, families, and external providers
Skills and Experience
Current QCT registration
Experience in
learning support, inclusive education, or intervention programs
Solid understanding of
literacy and numeracy intervention across the secondary years
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
Highly organised with strong communication skills
Committed to inclusive education and improving student outcomes
Willingness to embrace our school's values and contribute to our unique culture
Additional Information
Several of our Secondary Teachers have been trained as Primary Teachers and have moved to Secondary School. They have found this move to be extremely rewarding.
