The Role

A vacancy currently exists within the Copper Smelter Maintenance team for a Fitter. Reporting to the Supervisor - Mechanical Maintenance, you will provide effective maintenance in a safe,



efficient and cost effective manner to ensure that production and statutory requirements are met. This is an excellent opportunity to further your experience and develop your technical skills and industry knowledge. This position is residentially based in Mount Isa and will require you to work a Monday to Friday roster, 48 hour week.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Repair and maintenance of fixed plant within the Copper SmelterHigh and safe quality of work conducted and maintainedCarry out routine maintenance Enter Notifications when issues foundComplete Slams and JSEA's for each taskHelping develop and follow maintenance schedules

You will have the following skillset and attributes:

Trade qualified - Mechanical FitterAbility to think logically and to solve problems when requiredFlexible in terms of rosters and possible changes to rosters when required as per business needsPrevious mining or heavy industry experience will be highly regardedPumps rebuildsCoupling alignmentsCrushing and conveying experienceOver Head crane services and repairsCooling tower maintenance and heat exchangersBasic computer skillsS123 highly regarded but not essential
