About the Role
Prime Steel Engineering is seeking an experienced and motivated
Floor Supervisor / Team Leader
to lead our workshop team and drive productivity, quality, and continuous improvement.
This is a hands‐on leadership role for someone with strong fabrication experience who can effectively manage workshop operations, supervise staff, maintain quality standards, and ensure weekly production targets are achieved. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing team capability through training, mentoring, and recruitment while fostering a positive and high‐performing workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily workshop workflow to maximise productivity and efficiency.
Supervise and coordinate workshop staff to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Oversee quality control processes and ensure all work meets company and customer requirements.
Monitor progress and drive the team to achieve weekly production targets.
Train, mentor, and develop team members to improve skills and performance.




Identify skill gaps and assist with recruitment and onboarding of new employees when required.
Demonstrate fabrication techniques and best practices to team members when needed.
Communicate effectively with management, customers, and workshop personnel.
Troubleshoot issues and implement practical solutions to minimise downtime and improve output.
Continuously review and improve workshop processes, workflow methods, and operational efficiency.
Promote a positive, accountable, and team‐focused work environment.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in a
Team Leader, Supervisor, or Workshop Leading Hand
role.
Solid background in
steel fabrication, manufacturing, or engineering
.
Ability to demonstrate fabrication skills and provide practical guidance to team members.
Solid understanding of workshop operations and productivity management.
Experience with quality control and continuous improvement processes.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.unknown
