About the role
Based at our Head Office in North Strathfield, the Junior Finance Officer
plays an integral role in supporting the financial operations of our Residential Aged Care and Home Care services. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this position provides high-quality financial and administrative support while offering valuable exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making.
This role is responsible for assisting with month-end and year-end financial processes, accounts payable and receivable functions, balance sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and effective financial management across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
Process supplier invoices and maintain accurate Accounts Payable records, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Manage debtor invoicing and support Accounts Receivable activities, including monitoring outstanding balances and collections.
Assist with the administration, reconciliation, and reporting of government funding, accommodation payments, resident contributions, and client fees in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
Support month-end and year-end financial processes, including bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of supporting schedules.
Assist in the preparation of management reports, board reporting packs, and financial analysis to support business decision-making.
Support compliance, reporting, and financial administration activities across Residential Aged Care and Home Care services.
Participate in finance transformation, system implementation,
and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.
Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
Provide administrative and operational support to the Finance Manager and broader Finance Team as required.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the development of best-practice financial processes and controls.
Develop knowledge and practical experience across financial reporting, funding administration, compliance, and aged care finance operations.
Essential
Certificate IV, Diploma, or Bachelor's degree in
Accounting, Finance, or Business
or currently studying towards a relevant qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Accounting, Finance, Commerce)
A minimum of 1–2 years' experience in a similar role is essential; experience within the Residential Aged Care and Home Care industry is desirable.
Accounting Fundamentals: A solid grasp of recording and reporting transactions, as well as understanding how the three primary financial statements link together.
Excel Proficiency: Intermediate knowledge.
System Knowledge (preferred): Experience with popular Australian cloud accounting software like Sage, Xero, or MYOB.
Reconciliations: The ability to perform daily bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations with high accuracy.
