About the team
/n
Reporting directly to the Health Service Chief Executive, you will sit on the Executive Leadership Team and work closely with executive colleagues, senior directors, nursing leaders and key external stakeholders.
/n
You will lead the professional direction of nursing services across a complex statewide service and help create a united, high-performing nursing function focused on secure, high-quality, person-centred care.

About the role
/n
This permanent full-time role is based in South Brisbane and is accountable for the executive leadership, strategic direction and professional management of nursing services across Children's Health Queensland.
/n
You will provide executive leadership across professional, operational and policy matters while shaping workforce strategy, governance, innovation and patient safety.
/n
Key responsibilities
/n
/n
- Lead the strategic and professional direction of nursing services across Children's Health Queensland.
/n
- Partner with executive leaders to deliver organisational strategy, reform and performance outcomes.
/n
- Drive workforce capability, attraction, retention, learning and leadership development.
/n
- Oversee clinical governance, risk, patient safety, service performance and resource stewardship.
/n
- Build strong relationships across government, unions, research, tertiary and community stakeholders.
/n/n
About you
/n
/n
- Proven executive nursing leadership in a complex health service environment.
/n
- Deep expertise in paediatrics and/or child and youth health.
/n
- Strong clinical governance, risk management and quality improvement capability.
/n
- Outstanding communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
/n
- Values-led leadership, sound judgement and executive experience in workforce and budget management.
/n/n
Mandatory requirements
/n
/n
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
/n
- Tertiary degree, or equivalent, in nursing.
/n
- Management or clinical specialty qualifications highly regarded.
/n
- Current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card) prior to commencement.
/n
- Ability to meet vaccination and screening requirements, with some regional and interstate travel required.
/n/n
