Provide strategic and operational leadership to build and strengthen the Marketing, Media and Communications functions across Charles Darwin University
/n
About the Position
/n As the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, you will provide executive leadership of Charles Darwin University's marketing, communications and audience engagement portfolio to strengthen the University's reputation, support student growth and advance its strategic priorities.
Reporting to the Vice-President Global and External Relations, you will oversee the University's Marketing, Media and Communications, Digital Engagement, Web, Events and Territory FM functions, bringing together digital, broadcast and in person engagement to deliver a cohesive and compelling institutional presence.

As a member of the CDU leadership team, you will provide trusted strategic advice on reputation, brand, communications, stakeholder engagement and issues management. You will inspire and develop a high performing multidisciplinary team to design and deliver integrated strategies that enhance the University's profile, deepen engagement with key audiences and support sustainable growth.
In doing so, you will foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement and evidence-based decision making, ensuring measurable outcomes and exceptional service across the University.

What You'll Do:
/n
/n
- Develop and lead the University's enterprise brand and reputation strategy to strengthen Charles Darwin University's position as Australia's most connected university and an institution of choice for students, staff, researchers, industry, government and community.
/n
- Provide expert strategic advice to the Vice-Chancellor, Senior Executive Team and senior leaders on matters relating to reputation, brand, communications and stakeholder engagement.
/n
- Lead the development and implementation of an integrated, evidence-based marketing strategy that supports the University's Strategic Plan, student recruitment objectives and organisational priorities.
/n
- Lead the University's corporate communications, media relations and public affairs functions to ensure clear, consistent and compelling communication with internal and external audiences.
/n
- Provide strategic oversight of Territory FM as a key University engagement platform, ensuring its operations, programming and partnerships contribute to the University's reputation, community connections and strategic priorities.
/n
- Drive innovation through the adoption of emerging technologies, digital platforms and artificial intelligence to improve engagement, operational efficiency and customer experience.
/n
- Lead and develop a high-performing Marketing, Media and Communications team that demonstrates innovation, collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for:
/n
/n
- Postgraduate qualification in marketing, communications, business or a related discipline with extensive relevant senior leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
/n
- Demonstrated ability to use evidence and influence to positively impact strategy development and organisational outcomes.
/n
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary marketing, communication and brand management practices, with the ability to translate strategy into effective organisational initiatives that support growth and enhance the University's market position.
/n
- Demonstrated ability to lead and prioritise corporate communications and media strategies, with a strong understanding of contemporary channels and audience behaviour, particularly in relation to reputation enhancement and issues management.
/n
- Demonstrated ability to build team-oriented relationships and engage effectively with stakeholders within a university or other large, complex and diverse organisation.
/n
- Demonstrated leadership and people management capability, including leading change and developing high-performing teams.
/n
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
/n
- Demonstrated financial, resource and contract management capability.
/n/n
Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check and a valid NT Working with Children clearance
