We are seeking two experienced HV Commissioning Electricians to support a major Decarbonisation Infrastructure Project across the Pilbara region. This is an excellent opportunity to join a significant infrastructure project with a robust pipeline of work and a high likelihood of contract extension.
About the Role
Reporting to the Commissioning Supervisor / Electrical Superintendent, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of high-voltage electrical systems and associated equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring systems are safely commissioned and delivered in accordance with project specifications, statutory requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform commissioning, functional testing and energisation of HV systems
- Test switchgear, transformers, protection relays and control systems
- Interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams and test procedures
- Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, polarity and secondary injection testing
- Perform LV testing and fault-finding activities
- Commission control systems and carry out instrument calibration
- Identify, diagnose and rectify electrical faults and non-conformances
- Complete commissioning records and test documentation accurately
- Coordinate commissioning activities with engineers, project teams and operations personnel
- Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental and quality requirements
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Current WA Electrical Licence (or recognised equivalent)
- HV Switching Operator Certification
- Proven experience in high-voltage installation and commissioning
- Strong knowledge of protection and control systems
- Current CPR/LVR accreditation
- White Card
- Current Driver's Licence
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and compliance
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capability
Desirable Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience within mining, renewable energy or HV infrastructure projects
- Experience preparing and executing HV switching programs
- Knowledge of SCADA and protection relay systems including SEL, Schneider and Siemens
- Experience with commissioning documentation and pre-commissioning processes
- Understanding of isolation and permit systems
- Knowledge of WA mining legislation and HV regulations
- Exposure to AC and DC charging infrastructure projects
