An exciting opportunity exists for a Mechanical Engineer to join a leading Defence organisation supporting the delivery of a major capability program.

/n

Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will play a key role in the design, development and integration of complex products and systems throughout the engineering lifecycle.

/n

This position would suit someone with a strong background in mechanical design, product development or engineering design within Defence, aerospace, automotive, rail, heavy industry or other highly regulated engineering environments.

/n

Key Responsibilities

/n

- Develop and maintain mechanical designs, engineering drawings and technical documentation.

/n

- Support design reviews, engineering change processes and configuration management activities.

/n

- Produce and update 3D CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings.

/n

- Work closely with systems, manufacturing, quality and project engineering teams to deliver engineering outcomes.

/n

- Conduct engineering investigations, design analysis and problem-solving activities.

/n

- Ensure designs meet customer, safety, regulatory and compliance requirements.

/n

- Support prototype, testing, verification and validation activities as required.

/n

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and design optimisation activities.

/n

What you'll need to succeed

/n





- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

/n

- Experience within Defence, aerospace, automotive, rail, manufacturing or another complex engineering environment.

/n

- Robust mechanical design and product development experience.

/n

- Proficiency with CREO and/or CAD software (Solid Works, Inventor, CATIA, NX or similar considered).

/n

- Experience producing engineering drawings and technical documentation.

/n

- Understanding of engineering lifecycles, design reviews and configuration management processes.

/n

- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

/n

- Ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams.

/n

Desirable

/n

- Experience working on Defence programs.

/n

- Understanding of systems engineering principles.

/n

- Exposure to AS9100, ISO9001 or similar quality standards.

/n

- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.

/n
