Role Overview
The Marketing & Brand Manager will manage day-to-day general marketing operations while leading our evolution into an industry leader. This hands-on role balances foundational brand management with up-to-date digital engagement.
You will manage our corporate B2B reputation, track food trends, launch, develop our proprietary brands, and build our social media presence from scratch to capture the attention of retail category buyers and industry partners.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Supplier Engagement
- Customer Relationship Marketing: Develop tailored marketing assets, co-branding initiatives, and promotional support for existing private label customers and retail accounts.
- Supplier Collaboration: Partner with core ingredient and packaging suppliers to market shared sustainability goals, traceability initiatives, and innovative material adoptions.
- Feedback Loops: Establish communication touch points to gather feedback from distributors and customers to refine marketing messaging and product packaging.
Brand Management & Awareness
- Brand Development: Lead the creation, positioning, and end-to-end launch of our proprietary brands, ensuring it does not conflict with existing private label clients.
- Corporate B2B Identity: Maintain and elevate our company’s corporate image, ensuring all external communications reflect our reliability and scale.
- Sales & Pitch Enablement: Develop high-impact pitch decks, product catalogues, trade materials, and samples to help the commercial sales team secure meetings with major supermarket and foodservice buyers.
Trend Analysis & Market Intelligence
- Consumer Insights: Monitor food trends, dietary shifts, ingredient innovations, and packaging developments to keep our portfolio competitive.
- Competitor Tracking:
Conduct ongoing market analysis of both private label manufacturers and branded competitors to identify market gaps.
- Data Synthesis: Translate market research into actionable insights for the management team to help guide future product pipelines.
Digital Presence & Social Media
- Social Content Strategy: Launch and manage our company’s professional networks (LinkedIn for B2B procurement partners) and visual platforms (Instagram/TikTok to showcase our food, culinary trends, and production scale).
- Digital Showcasing: Build a modern, non-transactional company website featuring clear product specification sheets and streamlined B2B sample-request forms.
- Community Engagement: Monitor industry conversations and handle inbound digital inquiries from potential retail buyers or distributors.
Campaign & Event Marketing
- Trade Show Execution: Plan and execute our presence at key food industry trade shows, exhibitions, and product tasting events.
- PR & Business Awareness: Identify industry awards, trade publications, and PR opportunities to boost our profile as a premium tier-one manufacturer.
Key Requirements & Competencies
- Experience: 6+ years of generalist marketing experience, with a background in food manufacturing, beverage, or FMCG being favourable.
- B2B Fluency: Solid understanding of how food supply chains and commercial retail buying processes operate.
- The "Generalist" Mindset: Comfortable pivoting between writing a commercial retail pitch, analysing market trends, and posting social content.
- Content & Visual Eye: Ability to direct creative freelancers (photographers/designers) or use tools like Canva to quickly produce clean, professional assets.
- Relationship Management: Proven ability to communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including major retail buyers and raw material vendors.
