A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced procurement officer to join a fast-paced government procurement team!
Working within a small and supportive team, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities across a range of categories, including construction, maintenance, consultancy and upgrade projects. You will contribute to delivering best practice procurement services while ensuring compliance with government procurement policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide procurement advice and support to operational staff and stakeholders.
- Prepare, coordinate and manage tender processes across a variety of procurement categories.
- Facilitate tender evaluations and apply appropriate procurement and regulatory requirements.
- Undertake purchasing activities including raising, amending and managing purchase orders.
- Maintain procurement documentation and document control processes.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant policies, procedures, delegations and legislative requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers and consultants.
- Manage multiple procurement projects and priorities concurrently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Previous QLD Government procurement experience at AO4 level or above.
- Experience coordinating procurement and tender activities within a government environment.
- Strong understanding of procurement legislation, policies and governance requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Robust organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Highly Desirable:
- Procurement experience within the Building, Construction and Maintenance category.
- Qualifications or accreditation in procurement, purchasing or contract management.
- Queensland Purchasing, QGCPO, CIPS or similar professional accreditation.
