About the Opportunity
The Payroll Specialist Level I is responsible for supporting the administration and delivery of client payroll processing services within a managed services workplace for Australian payrolls. This role provides the opportunity to work across a diverse client portfolio while collaborating within a team-based delivery model.
Unlike traditional in-house payroll roles, this position offers broad learning opportunities and hands-on experience in a dynamic, collaborative environment. It is ideally suited to candidates with some experience in payroll, accounting, administration, or customer service who are seeking to develop their skills, expand their knowledge, and build a long-term career in payroll and workforce management.
What you'll get to do
- Adhere to Dayforce’s Code of Conduct, values and policies and procedures
- Be aware of and comply with all Dayforce and customer information security protocols, ensuring adherence to Information Security Standards and requirements
- Support the delivery of accurate and timely payroll services.
- Process payroll-related changes, including tax forms, adjustments, terminations accurately and within required timelines for assigned customers.
- Manage customer-related tasks within case management systems, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and timely.
- Assist in delivering payroll services in accordance with Dayforce contracts, legislative requirements, and business needs.
- Monitor and respond to customer enquiries via phone and email in a timely and professional manner.
- Contribute to high levels of customer satisfaction through consistent, high-quality service delivery.
- Collaborate with Payroll Specialists and broader payroll teams, providing support as required.
- Participate in team meetings, contributing feedback and input on operational matters and process improvements.
- Deliver tasks in accordance with agreed schedules, procedures, and quality standards.
- Engage in training and development opportunities to build skills, knowledge, and capability.
- Act as an effective and collaborative team member, contributing to overall team success.
Skills and experience we value
- 1+ years of payroll processing experience or background in accounting
- Sound understanding of legislation, taxation and superannuation as they relate to payroll processing activities for Australia.
- Experience using Dayforce or Dayforce aPay systems, or similar payroll technologies is advantageous
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, effectively prioritising tasks and managing competing demands.
- Process and detail-oriented with good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, while also demonstrating the initiative to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to both team members and customers.
- Strong analytical skills and intermediate Excel skills.
