What you'll be doing
As the Operational Nurse Manager - Medicine, you will provide operational leadership and management to ensure the delivery of safe, compassionate and high-quality nursing care while maximising workforce and resource efficiency. You will inspire teams, support professional development and foster a culture of continuous improvement.





Lead and manage nursing services to achieve excellence in patient care and operational performance

Build, coach and mentor high-performing nursing teams through effective leadership and workforce development

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, person-centred care and positive patient outcomes

Drive quality improvement initiatives, professional standards and evidence-based practice

Monitor workforce performance, resource utilisation and clinical governance to support service excellence

Essential Criteria

Relevant post graduate qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by WSLHD

Australian citizen/permanent resident or valid work visa.

Selection Criteria

Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.

Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the service/facility are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers,



carers and the multidisciplinary health care team and to represent the nursing service inside and outside the organisation.

Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise

Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking to set goals, formulate strategic plans and policies to achieve identified outcomes for the service and organisation

Demonstrated understanding and participation in the implementation of organisational change, risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
