Spokerun Driver – Defence Theatre Logistics (DTL)

Are you ready to apply your driving skills and experience to a role that directly supports Australia’s Defence capability? At Toll Group, we are proud to be expanding our Government & Defence portfolio through the Defence Theatre Logistics (DTL) contract.

We are currently seeking experienced HR Drivers to join our team based at Wadsworth Barracks in East Bandiana Vic. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering general freight to Defence customers in a safe, professional, and timely manner while ensuring compliance with all transport and safety procedures.

In addition to driving duties, you will also assist within the warehouse between runs, including:

Picking and preparing freight for dispatch

Loading and unloading vehicles

Freight handling and stock rotation within the warehouse

Ensuring correct load restraint practices are followed

Supporting daily warehouse and logistics operations as required

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and safety-focused driver who enjoys working in a rapid-paced logistics environment and contributing to a critical Defence supply chain operation.

How you’ll make the right impact

As a Spokerun/HR Driver, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our Defence logistics operations run efficiently and in line with contract expectations. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:

Ensuring the safe delivery of consignments with no damage

Load your vehicle and restrain your load each day

Complete safety vehicle checks

Use of scanner and or complete paperwork when necessary

Actively participate and attend safety and toolbox meetings

Actively participate in incident investigations

Comply with all legislated road laws and regulations, including both private and public networks

Conduct all tasks within a customers’ site or in public arena with professionalism

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for motivated professionals who bring:

Ability to work both autonomously and in a close team environment

Provide flexibility for the various distribution tasks required

Ability to interact with a diverse team at all levels of the organisation’s hierarchy

Interpersonal awareness

Ability to problem solve

Openness and integrity

Strong customer focus

Ability to interpret and follow work procedures and instructions

Eligibility to make the grade

Be an Australian Citizen.

Provide a 5yrs Demerit Point History Check

Hold a Valid HR Truck Lic & LF Forklift Lic

Be eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Defence Security Clearance (Baseline or higher).

Be prepared to undertake pre-employment checks including criminal history, medical, and other background assessments.
