About the Role

Randstad is currently recruiting for an experienced AO8 Policy Officer to join a government body on a contract basis. In this high-level role, you will contribute to significant, broad-scale reform initiatives. You will leverage your deep policy expertise to foster cross-agency collaboration and deliver practical, evidence-based policy frameworks.
Role Responsibilities

- Policy Strategy & Development: Lead, influence, and contribute to the end-to-end policy cycle, delivering high-quality strategies, policy frameworks, and project deliverables.
- Legislative & Technical Analysis: Analyse complex legislation, regulatory frameworks, and technical data to provide high-level, strategic advice to executive leadership.
- Executive Briefings & Documentation: Prepare and oversee complex briefs, ministerial correspondence, policy submissions, drafting instructions, and detailed reports under tight deadlines.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong working relationships across government sectors, local authorities, and key external stakeholders to drive consensus on policy reform.
- Work Delivery & Resource Planning: Prioritise and manage project resources effectively to meet key milestones while upholding rigorous quality standards.

- Executive Writing Capabilities: Demonstrated excellence in drafting high-level briefings, submissions, and strategic documentation for executive leaders.
- Risk & Environmental Policy Focus: Practical experience reviewing, formulating, or advising on environmental risk management policies.
