Bridge Drafter (AutoCAD) | Roads & Rail Bridge Structures

An excellent opportunity has become available with a highly regarded engineering design consultancy for an experienced Bridge Drafter to join their growing Melbourne team.

This is a permanent position suited to someone with circa 5+ years of Australian bridge drafting experience who enjoys taking ownership of detailed design documentation and working closely with engineers to deliver high-quality transport infrastructure projects.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you'll play a key role in producing accurate construction documentation for bridge and transport structures, while contributing technical input throughout the design process.

The Role

- Prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings and construction documentation for bridge and transport infrastructure projects.
- Produce high-quality drafting packages suitable for construction.
- Interpret engineering calculations and convert them into accurate design documentation.
- Liaise directly with engineers to develop practical and efficient engineering solutions.
- Work autonomously while maintaining exceptional drafting standards and attention to detail.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of multiple projects within a collaborative engineering team.

About You




- 5-10 years' experience as a Bridge Draftsperson within an Australian engineering consultancy.
- Strong AutoCAD skills with extensive experience producing detailed bridge construction drawings.
- Demonstrated experience on road and rail bridge projects.
- Solid understanding of engineering computations and structural detailing.
- Able to work independently while communicating effectively with engineers and project teams.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality documentation.
