Michael Freedman Racing Pty Ltd are currently seeking highly experienced and capable staff to join their stable. Positions are full-time and available at Randwick, NSW. The successful applicant/s must be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of industry best practice, with either international experience or a thorough understanding of the global trends of the thoroughbred industry. Horse Trainer/2nd Foreperson: * Plan and implement training regimes and feeding plans and reviewing and adjusting when necessary

- Training young thoroughbreds to be accustomed to race day events and procedures
- Re-educating horses to resolve problems such as biting, kicking and barrier issues.
- Advise head trainer on factors affecting horses and their education.
- Supervise horse feeding program to ensure optimum fitness and performance.
- Record all horse training data and ensuring accurate and up to date records are maintained for all veterinary, horse health and racing related activities.
- Attend race day events and performing all duties associated including travelling with horses,



strapping at races and all care for the horses as required, including presenting horses to stewards

Essential Skills:
- Applicants must have a minimum of at least 3-year full time professional experience in the role
- Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racing
- Proven ability to train and educate young horses
- Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction and provide information
- Knowledge of secure operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
- Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses

Desirable Qualification:
- A Certificate III or IV or equivalent international qualification
