Want to learn a trade, build things you can be proud of, and work with a team that actually backs you?
At MASS, we don’t just make things, we design and manufacture engineered solutions used across the water and infrastructure industries throughout Australia and overseas.
We’re looking for our next Boilermaking Apprentice to join our team on the Gold Coast.
Whether you’re just starting out, have been thinking about a career in fabrication, or have already started your apprenticeship, we want to hear from you.
Not sure if boilermaking is for you?
That’s okay... you don’t need to know yet.
We want this to be the right move for both of us.
For a new apprentice, the first 6 months will be a chance for you to experience the trade, learn how our workshop operates and decide whether boilermaking is the career you want to pursue. It also gives us the opportunity to make sure we’re the right fit for you.
If it’s working for everyone, we’ll then enrol you into a formal Boilermaking Apprenticeship and get you started with TAFE.
So if you’re keen to learn, willing to get stuck in and want to build a career, this could be your starting point.
What will you be doing?
You’ll learn from experienced fabricators and work alongside engineers, CNC specialists and advanced manufacturing professionals.
You’ll get hands-on experience with:
- Fabrication and welding
- Reading drawings and understanding how things are made
- Cutting, grinding, fitting and assembling
- Working with modern manufacturing equipment
- Solving real-world fabrication challenges
- Building products that are actually used out in the real world
- Occasional site work
We’ll give you the opportunity to learn, take on more responsibility and develop your skills as you progress.
What we’re looking for
We’re not expecting you to know everything.
What matters most is your attitude.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a positive, can-do attitudeIs reliable and ready to get stuck in
- Wants to learn and develop new skills
- Takes pride in doing a job properly
- Has an eye for detailIs interested in how things work and enjoys solving problems
- Can work as part of a team but isn't afraid to have a go independently
- Takes safety seriously
- Has a manual driver's licence
Experience is great, but attitude matters more.
